T Bar M Camps & Retreats

T Bar M Camps & Retreats has a family and Christian vibe to it that is not overt, lying just beneath the surface. Any guest from any spiritual or secular walk would feel comfortable here. As described in the advertisement, this is a sprawling property with loads of recreational venues and activities both indoors and outdoors. It is located within one hour from downtown San Antonio, yet feels very rural except for its closeness to Highway 46, which allowed for a bit of obtrusive traffic noise, and to a housing development. The room at the lodge looked to have been recently refreshed, featuring paint that looked newly applied, and custom fixtures in the bathroom, along with a fashionable walk-in shower with no tub. The room featured a refrigerator, but no microwave cooker and no coffee service. All buildings campus-wide were a good balance of rustic and luxury. The campus-wide Wi-Fi was easy to connect to and was stable and reliable. Beverages for a business conference were slow to be replenished for the next session, requiring participants to use the water cooler in the entrance area. The food was delicious and expertly cooked. The dining room was opened and meals served on time and in some instances, a few minutes early. The dining staff were gracious and accommodating. The manager would not accept a tip for her staff's excellent cooking and service. One of the beverages at one meal ran out and was not replaced. Four stars for T Bar M Camps & Retreats. All guests were in agreement that a return visit next year would be worth the somewhat steep admission price, which was worth every dollar.

Our church members had a great time during their stay at T Bar M, a fantastic campsite and retreat center that I highly recommend. The entire staff was incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and friendly to everyone who visited the campus. They were always willing to help whenever we needed them. The food was excellent, and the accommodations were comfortable. We are grateful for the wonderful space that T Bar M provides for our church to retreat to and get refreshed.

Our church absolutely loves our time at T Bar M each year for our "Family Camp." Their staff is so kind and helpful the moment we need them. The food is excellent as are the accommodations. The grounds are kept beautiful even during 2 very dry/hot summers. Thank you so much for maintaining such a wonderful space for our church to retreat to and get refreshed!

We have board meetings all over the state each year and we chose T Bar M as the location for our first meeting with our new board. Everything was absolutely perfect! It was the perfect location because everyone spent time together bonding, eating great food and enjoyed some karaoke. I can’t say enough about the staff. They were ALL so kind and incredibly accommodating. I have to give a special shoutout to Lauren who worked so hard and continued to make sure we had everything we needed and always with a smile on her face. Often times we’re in large hotels and we’re just another “group” but at T Bar M we felt “special” and you knew that everyone there tried to make sure we were well taken care of. As a meeting planner, I didn’t set the bar very high for the food but I was very wrong. It was truly some of the best food I’ve had and all 45 of our attendees thought the same thing. T Bar M will definitely be on the top of my list for future meeting locations.

My university was hosting a student leadership retreat here. 1. Food amazing 2. I forgot the guy name (im sorry😭) that works in the kitchen but he was absolutely wonderful and surprised us with to go boxes this morning for me and my peers for our long ride back 3. The staff member here was also incredible and very encouraging. Im legit terrified of heights but they do try to encourage you and motivating you. I did the wall climb and that was fun 4. Scenery here is amazing. In between actives im just trying to chill outside I did try posting photos I have of the place but for some reason its not letting me so it'll do it later. But overall this place is incredible. Oh and I forgot to mention the gift shop GET YOU A SHIRT!! those shorts are so cute especially the ones on clearance. Just a heads up their size do run large so I do suggest going down a size. If you're like me,, im usual an XL/2XL, you gonna need just a large.

My Thoughts, for the past 4 yrs (including this one2023) we have held our company Summer Event at the T Bar M!! For our large group of 200-300 employees and families I think they do a pretty darn good job!! They have made alot of improvements over the years for to not just be a kids camp! They were able to be fully staffed this year and oh what a HUGE difference it made!! I can't think My Retreat Coordinator enough Katie Tucker has been AWESOME, but Barrett Miller gave her a run for her money!! Thanks Katie!! Barrett, Katie & Chase were all so great and johnny on the spot when asking for help!! Love all 3 of them and their teams! What a great bunch to coordinate with this year!! I have to say Deidre and her new Team (Tracey & Husband) were all fantastic!! The food was good and even with a couple of hrs in between meals they were right on time!! We have a few that have allergy or picky eaters and they accommodate all of US!!! Rooms- they have all had a little bit if a face light this year. Even with us being right on the heals of their last church camp, they did a really good job getting ready for us!! What you have to understand is we are as large as one their camps and yes, we do have the whole facility & rooms to just us! Beds, are really not meant for these tried ole hurting bodies to lay into a soft bed and just go off to dreamland. But if your tired enough or exhausted it really doesn't matter! We or I understand what all it takes to pull this weekend off and that we all have the same goal in mind! Make, Darla Happy!! T BAR M, you ALL did a fabulous job even when the heat exhaustion set in with me! You picked up the pieces and keep my company going and took really great care of all almost 300.
